Tungurahua violent eruption:

Since the eruption of 1999 the Tungurahua started its most violent eruption on July 14, 2006. The volcano emitted a column of ashes, vapor and rocks. This was clearly visible on the satellite photos where the column drifted towards the Pacific Ocean. There was a constant tremors, explosions, ash emissions, as well as rock falls, put the population in Pelileo, BaƱos, Penipe, and other counties of the Chimborazo and Tungurahua Province on alert both during the day and night of July 15. The ashes destroyed fields and calcined animals. As of July 17, it was reported that for the first time since 1999, pyroclastic flows had occurred, reaching the evacuated hamlet
